Kincaid, et al. v. Unified School District No. 500 (“Kansas City Kansas Public Schools”)

Wyandotte County Kansas District Court, WY-2024-CV-000370; Filed: May 8, 2024.    

Our office filed a class action claim on behalf of employees employed under the District’s “Administrator & Supervisor” contracts over the past five years.  The Plaintiff Cassandra Kincaid alleges that the District breached this contractual agreement by requiring these employees to perform additional days of work outside the express limited number of workdays in these contracts.  Ms. Kincaid is also alleging that the District violated the Kansas Wage Payment Act statute by failing to pay these employees compensation owed.  She is bringing this claim as a class action on behalf of all other employees who worked under these contracts from the 2019/2020 school year forward.
